Prayer, Promise, & Praise December 20, 2008

On today’s Prayer, Promise, and Praise, Warren Wiersbe talks about how we should pray when we are in trouble. The message is titled Willing to Lead. The message comes from Psalms 34:15 & 143:1-12. It starts out with the second scripture like this:

“How should we pray when we are going through trouble? We find several requests in David’s prayer, and if we follow his example, God will lead us through our difficulties into blessing.First, he says, “Hear my prayer” (v. 1) and “answer me speedily, O Lord; my spirit fails!” (v. 7). We don’t have to shout to God; we don’t have to argue with Him. We simply can come to Him and say, “Lord, hear me.” When a child comes to his father or mother, the parent has his ears open. “The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry” (Ps. 34:15). Have you prayed to God about what worries you today?”

Wish Upon a Hero December 20, 2008

Good day all!

If you missed it, I’ve placed a link to “Wish Upon a Hero” on my side bar. This is a great place to go to help out those in need.

One of the wishes I found was a simple one. It was a wish for a girls sister who is dealing with Lupus two years now that she would recieve lots of Christmas cards. Even a toy would be nice. There is an address where to send them. I haven’t read all the rules yet, so I don’t know if I can post the address here. So instead, you can go to Mr. Linky on the side bar and go there to check it out.

The last one I just read–I’ve just gotten started–is about a mom with 7 children. Mom is being abused but scared to leave. She can’t afford food or gifts, husband won’t take care of it. So a dinner at least for the family for Christmas has been requested. I know we can all do more than that to help them out. Her friend is trying to encourage her to move into a shelter. At least be praying for her and the children that they will soon be able to escape the abuse.

Some of you–which I doubt–may be thinking, “well if she would just move out, she’d have a better chace at taking care of her family, why so many kids, yadda, yadda, yadda. I’ve seen people in this type of place before. They are scared to leave. Some only know abuse, and don’t know any difference. Some think they deserve the abuse. Some are told they will be killed if they try to leave. Some just give up and succumb to it all, thinking there is no other options. Regardless, she and those babies need our prayers and our help.

I know times are tough for many, but dig deep in your hearts, as the Lord what you can do, what He wants you to do, and do what you can. Above all, pray for help them.

Some of the wishes and them being granted are so heart warming. Such as a little girl with spinal injuries needed a specific kind of dog trained to help her learn to walk again. The wish was granted. She is such a cutie too. I pray for complete healing for this bright young girl. Amen.

Another was a soldier in Iraq that wore contact lenses. Because of the desert, it was very hard on his eyes. He requested help to recieve lasik surgery and it was provided by an eye assoc. All paid for, done quickly, now no more contacts, and vision restored to perfect!!!!

God Bless You All. I know there are a lot of places out there to help people. Just remember, even something as simple as a card or letter is all some of them ask for.

Here is Mr. Linky to add the button to your blog if you wish. You have a choice of the type you want to add. Or, when you click on the button on my side bar, look at the very top of the page and it will have an area that says link to us. Click on that for all the types to add to your page.
