Hypocrisy December 17, 2008

In today’s Prime Time With God it talks about being a hypocrite. How we often believe in things that aren’t real. The title of the message is, “Being the Real Thing.” The title alone makes you stop and think.

A scripture used is: Matthew 15:7-9 when Jesus was prophesying. “You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you: These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men.”

Ah, the world rules. Are they the rules of the Lord? Some follow Him, but not all. Now this is not saying go out and break the law. No, there are laws for a reason; but this means do not fall before the Lord. Obey His rules to the best of your ability. Avoid living in the flesh of the worldly ways. But rather follow Christs path. He will lead us to righteousness.

God’s Perfect Timing December 17, 2008

God’s perfecting timing never ceases to amaze me. This is a post to show His grace and mercy; not to boast.

Today my son asked me if I wanted to go out for lunch. I decided to take care of a couple of things first even though I knew he wanted to get going. Little did we know there was a reason for my taking my time. We finally headed out. When we reached a certian intersection, we had a red light. I looked away when I hear J say oh my gosh. I look up just in time to watch two cars impact one another head on. They hit pretty hard.

You see, we were meant to be at that corner at that time. I put on my emergency flashers, pulled to the side and jumped out to make sure everyone was okay. The first car I came to was an older woman. She was pretty shook up and complaining of her back hurting. She was going to call it in when I told her I would. Then I saw a young woman from the other car getting two young boys out. So I ran over to make sure they were okay and started to call the accident in when I noticed another woman in a vehicle on the phone and she motioned she had called it in. So I had my son put the little ones in our vehicle to keep them warm. It’s only in the 20’s here.

The older woman would not get out of her vehicle and refused to go with the ambulance as she had her dog with her. She asked that I call her husband for her and did. Once the ambulance, police, and all showed up, I was told to go back to my own vehicle. By then I had my son pull over into a parking lot.

The babies were kept warm and mom was able to sit in there with them while the EMT’s checked them out, and she filled out her report. I’m just so thankful that we were put there at that time. It was too cold for them babies to be kept outside until help arrived. I just pray that everyone will be okay. The one little boy ended up being taken in the ambulance since he was saying his kneck hurt. The poor little guy was terrified. The ambulance crew was awesome though. Poor mom was really shook up and still in shock. My heart goes out to the three of them. Their grandma showed up to help out which was a blessing as well.

I also pray the older woman is okay as well. She was in shock totally and was still sitting in her car with the window down when we finally left there about a 1/2 hour later. My heart goes out to all involved. Yes, even the woman at fault. People make mistakes, and this type is most unfortunate, but we are to forgive. They have a tough road ahead of them, but even tougher if they are not with the Lord. May the Lord shine down on them, keep them free of nightmares, and bless all involved so that their suffering is short. And Lord, please take good care of those two little boys. They were brave even though they were scared. Thank you for putting us in the right spot at the right time.

The reason I know we were meant to be there; we never went to lunch afterwards. We headed towards there then desided to just go home and eat. God is Good! His timing, His mercy, and His love. It doesn’t get any better. I wish the accident had never happened, but thankful to be there to help. We owe it all to His Glory!

God’s Covenant December 17, 2008

In today’s Crosswalk Live It! there is an article that talks about our Covenant with God. Do you know where you stand with God? The following are some paragraphs from there. They are so meaningful, and so true.

This first one is the whole paragraph from Crosswalk, as I wanted the full effect from the page.
Recognize the difference between a covenant and a contract. Our society’s main form of relationship is a contract — an agreement between two parties that focuses on what each promises to do for the other and can easily be broken. But God wants to relate to you through covenant — an unconditional promise of a permanent relationship. Don’t let the world’s prevailing form of relationship limit your thinking on how you can relate to God. Although other people can let you down, God will always prove reliable. Count on God to always do what’s best. Unlike with a contract, in a covenant it’s God Himself who protects your best interests. Decide to trust Him with every aspect of your life.”

The next one talks about not striving to earn Gods love. We have a covenant with Him. We do not need to constantly try to prove ourselves to Him. Just live by His word, and we have Him. He’s always there through the good and the bad. We must repent if we slip back into the flesh/worldly ways, but He is still there waiting for us.

Another good one is to not be prideful. When we are filled with pride, we distance ourselves from the Lord. This is not good. Humble ourselves before the Lord. All the glory belongs to Him. We can not go it alone. I’ve learned from experience that when we try to go it alone and feel we can handle it all on our own, that life can become difficult to a total nightmare.

Overcoming Fear is a good one. When we feel fearful, it tends to lead us away from God. We should be running to Him instead. He will protect us. Faith!

This one is so good. We all go through it. Some more than others, or so it seems. We must always remember He is going to test us from time to time, depending on our behavior and closeness to Him, but regardless, we are tested. Here is the paragraph on that subject:

Pass the tests. God will sometimes test your faith. When God calls you to do something that seems ridiculous to others, choose to listen to God instead of worrying about what other people think. When you encounter a temptation, decide not to yield to it so you can please God and avoid trouble for yourself. God has demonstrated His perfect faithfulness through His covenant with you; place your full faith in Him.”

The rest is the labels for each paragraph written. They all are good and worth reading. I highly suggest going to the link and reading the rest of the message. Here are the titles:

Embrace God as a Father; Let Go; Wait for God’s timing. [This one is so true, as God's timing is perfect. We need to be patient and wait upon Him.] Don’t hold grudges; Live through God’s strength rather than your own; Focus on character; Stay positive [This one goes a long way. Being negative only opens the doors to the enemy. Discernment is so important.] View life from an eternal perspective; Expect God to use your life in great ways; Build true friendships; Get rid of idols; [This includes oneself. It goes along with being prideful.] Expect miracles; Rely on the Holy Spirit; [Oh yes, being filled with the Holy Spirit is such a blesing. Pray boldly; Give generously; & Find our mission field.

God Bless Always and Always P.U.S.H.

Money Matters December 17, 2008

Today’s Crosswalk for women has a great message on money matters. God’s timing is amazing. My husband & I were just talking about the economy last night. Many are fretting and thinking we are in a serious depression. Well, if we look back into the 40’s & 50’s, we are nothing like it was then. We are just so used to having so much. If we talk to those that went through the great depression, they will tell you that we are a lucky people. That is here in the U.S. There are countries that are suffering.

Anyway, the article talks about with all the layoffs, money being tight for many, some wondering what they are going to do, we need to remember to turn to God. He always provides. He never gives us more than we can handle. His messages are for a reason. I like this scripture: “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:18

The article is good. You can go here to read the full message. Just scroll the radio bar to finances and click on “Trusting God When Money Seems Scarce.” You can also sign up for the womens e-mail messages along with others.
God Bless you always. P.U.S.H.
