I have decided to remove all the political remarks posts as I realize I wasn’t doing a very Christian thing with some of what I had written. I believe we all need to pray about what direction we are suppose to take. A healthy debate is fine, but getting upset or arguing is not the way to go. There is enough ugliness in the world without having to add to it. I pray the best person is voted into office.
The Mom Test October 23, 2008
I was out walking with my 4 year old daughter. She picked up something off
the ground and started to put it in her mouth. I took the item away from her
and I asked her not to do that.
“Why?” my daughter asked.
“Because it’s been on the ground, you don’t know where it’s been, it’s
dirty, and probably has germs” I replied.
At this point, my daughter looked at me with total admiration and asked,
“Momma, how do you know all this stuff, you are so smart.”
I was thinking quickly. “All moms know this stuff. It’s on the Mom Test. You
have to know it, or they don’t let you be a Mom.”
We walked along in silence for 2 or 3 minutes, but she was evidently
pondering this new information. “OH…I get it!” she beamed, “So if you
don’t pass the test you have to be the dad.”
“Exactly” I replied back with a big smile on my face.
When you’re finished laughing, share this with another Mom. J
Teeny Tiny Baby Deer October 23, 2008
This tiny deer was delivered by Caesarean section at a wildlife hospital after his mother
was killed by a car. Little Rupert, who is so small he can fit in an adult’s hand, was born
after vets failed in their battle to save his mother.
At just six inches tall and weighing just over a pound, he is now in an incubator
in the intensive care unit at Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital in Buckinghamshire.
He has only recently opened his eyes.
Les Stocker, founder of Tiggywinkles, said: ‘Rupert’s mother had very severe injuries.
We brought him out and got him breathing and then he went into an incubator on oxygen.
He is now being fed by a tube.’
Tucked up: Rupert in an incubator
Rupert pulls a striking pose for the camera
Staff are optimistic Rupert, now five days old, will make a full recovery.
‘Deer are very, very tricky but this one has spirit. He’s an extremely feisty
little guy and quite pushy,’ Mr Stocker said.
Asleep: Rupert takes 40 winks
I recieved this in an e-mail and had to share it. Is it just the cutest or what. Go little Rupert! We’ll be praying for you. The miracle’s of life. God is Good!
